You Have Accepted His Proposal Now Engagement Photos May Be Snapped

By Debby Rowenta

After many years of the dating game, and perhaps a few false starts at forever love, soul-mates finally came together. When the marriage question was asked and answered affirmatively, the next thought after showing off the sparkly new ring, was engagement photos to be used as announcing to the world your intentions.

For as long as a woman can remember, from the time she was just a little girl to now, the perfect wedding may have been dreamed about. The perfect man might never have appeared, but then no one is without flaws of some kind.

As uncomfortable as it may be for one or the other of the couple, they realize that they must have a photo to insert into the local papers, both locally and in their hometowns. This fact makes it a better experience and they endure the time and the many poses it may take to achieve their objective of a suitable snapshot.

The one taking the pictures may ask for many different poses, and often will just snap pictures quickly, hoping to snare that elusive perfect picture. Doing this will also give the soon-to-be bride and groom an idea of what the wedding shoot will entail.

If the same photographer is used for both pre-marriage and wedding photographs, the first ones could be a time to build a rapport with the picture taker. When this person knows a little about the couple, the person may have more idea what they want to portray in their snaps. These black and whites in the newspaper may be the only way folks at a great distance might be able to see the future bride and groom.

Sitting in front of a camera, at the ready, being asked to do this or that, can often be not so fun. If considered as a prequel to the wedding pictures, these engagement photos may be considered a walk-through. Many of the same requirements might be present. Knowing before-hand what to expect can make the already possibly stressful time a bit easier to handle.
