Explore Key West Florida: A Wedding And Honeymoon Destination

Why not come down to the island of Key West, Florida? A tropical island with its own exotic beauty. Whether you want to marry barefooted on the shores of our white sandy beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or find a quite tropical garden this location is perfect for this type of getaway.

What a great location too for your wedding photographs, as Key West offers much in the way of photo opportunity. You be challenged to decide what backdrop you want for your backgrounds, either clear pristine ocean waters or the native tropical foliage offered in one of our park or garden settings

Keeping in mind Key West is very popular for weddings and is actually still reasonably inexpensive, therefore there is something available to suit anyone regardless of what size of wedding budget you actually have. Beach weddings range from simple ceremonies to very extravagant weddings. Whether you want to have your ceremony on the beach followed by a reception, or maybe an intimate dinner at one of our many restaurants that cater to the smaller wedding parties. Regardless of what you want on your special day Key West is able to offer an ultimate getaway for your wedding, as it offers sun, sea, and luxurious white sandy beaches and lush tropical gardens. Many have found it ideal as you can have your tropical outdoor wedding on the beach at various times throughout the day, whether early morning is your desire, or even right up until sunset and into the evening.

When it comes to discovering what Key West is famous for, just venture down our most famous strip, Duval Street, known to many as the Duval Crawl where you and your wedding guest can continue the celebration, as you visit the many great places where not only your guest will be toasting you but also others, after all who needs a reason for a celebration, even at Hog's Breath Saloon and why not venture over to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, you might make one of Jimmy's impromptu concerts that are frequently given!

Want to combine wedding celebrating and romantic honeymoon! What a wonderful place to spend time getting more acquainted with your loved one than on the island, mapping out and exploring your surrounding, walking from one art gallery to the other to enjoy the local artist work! Gift shops, are abundant as well, perfect for souvenirs, these can be found in other locations than Duval Street, look among the many shops along the waterfront.

With so many museums and historical places to visit, you'll see for yourself Key West has so much to offer you to visit. Starting with the home of our most famous writer Ernest Hemingway, where who knows just to walk the grounds he walked, might inspire you to write your first famous novel. Enjoy treasure hunting, visit the Mel Fisher's Maritime Museum, and plot your own buried treasure adventure. Take your time going up the 88 steps of the Lighthouse Museum, once at the top, enjoy the view looking over the blue ocean waters that surround the island. We have also the Custom House Museum where the Art and Historical Society show early Key West, or the Little White House, Harry S. Truman's home away from home. We also have a couple of lookout rustic forts East and West Martello, both located on the southern side of the island, each equally charming, West Martello was taken over by the Key West Garden Club, and has the most beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and White Street Pier from its Gazebo. One of the islands favorites is the Key West Butterfly Conservatory, our own little magic, this particular location, which melts your stress away, as you walk among the many different varieties of butterflies, you'll want to visit the gift shop to take a little bit of that magic home with you! But the day doesn't stop there, make your way down to Mallory Square along with everyone else for Sunset Celebration, which happens every evening, where your entertained by Key West best street performers.

Sailing adventures are unlimited, with either deep sea fishing in our pristine waters, or a romantic sunset sail on one of the many catamarans or schooners that chase the sun down every evening. Walk along Charter Boat Fishing Row to see the daily catch, go on an ever popular Dolphin Excursion and see pods of Dolphin frolicking in the water, Kayaking tours offer exploring the quite mangrove islands, Jet Ski tours that take you completely around our island, or if you like: do nothing at all but enjoy the laid back atmosphere we have on the island and find your spot and put down roots on our beaches underneath a palm tree, or sit by pool sipping your favorite beverage and plan your next adventure for tomorrow, or discuss it over dinner at one of our many unique restaurants, and look for the "locals" favorites as we would love to share these with you.

You can get to Key West any number of ways, Car: drive down the Florida Keys take advantage of the many other tourist stops, starting in Key Largo, with the John Pennekamp Coral Reef, also State Parks on Windley Key: Fossil Reef, Long Key, Bahia Honda, and our own Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, Sand Key Reef, and Dry Tortugas National Park, where you can explore Fort Jefferson for the day. Take time to look for Key Deer in Big Pine Key. You can arrive here via Airplane: Land at the Key West International Airport, Cruise Ships: dock daily in Key West. We have 3 docks on the island, or the Key West Express Ferry: from Fort Myers, Florida.
