How To Choose The Right Pair Of Socks

By Mark Taylor

In these tired, rushed times have the proper hosiery to go with almost any outfit will save you some time. Generally speaking, many people choose to wear solid colors rather than those that are more colorful. White or black socks are often a color choice that most people make.

When purchasing black socks, check to see where they are made. Those that are made in foreign countries are often cheaper to purchase. However, the sizing may be slightly smaller than those made in the industrial world.

This color is normally used when someone is wearing formal attire. The color blends well with solid colors and usually is worn by men when they are wearing suits.

Sometimes the material used is nylon which goes quite well with dress shoes. Hosiery made of this material often does not keep the feet warm. Warmth is usually found in those that are made of wool. These can be hand made or machine made in a factory.

When washing these in the washing machine, a cold water wash is recommended. You should only wash these with dark items. Sometimes the dye runs when they are first washed. If this happens and you have washed them with light clothes the dye can run, thus ruining them. It is recommended that you hang them to dry to avoid any shrinking due to the heat from your dryer.

Those looking to buy these items often go shopping at the local mall. Some of the larger retail chains carry a selection of hosiery items for both men and women. These items are an important part of your every day attire. Especially during the colder months as they help to keep the body heat in.
